China's southern coastal areas have a vast maritime jurisdiction, complex and zigzag shorelines, and numerous islands and reefs, making marine environmental monitoring and governance a heavy and complex task. For a long time, relevant authorities have mainly relied on law enforcement vessels for routine patrols and governance support. However, restricted by slow response, inefficient disaster assessment, difficulties in obtaining evidence against illegal fishing, high manpower input and operating costs, traditional patrols suffer from limited coverage, long evidence-gathering cycles and relatively delayed risk detection and early warning. Such conventional inspection mode and response efficiency can no longer meet the refined, normalized and digitalized development needs of modern marine governance.

Against this backdrop, multiple sets of Honeycomb Aerospace's SU-50Pro VTOL fixed-wing unattended systems have been successively deployed and put into operation along the coast of Guangxi. This marks that the regional marine monitoring system has officially entered a new stage of intelligent, unmanned and normalized operation, and marine governance has achieved modernization upgrade.
The SU-50Pro VTOL fixed-wing unattended system consists of an intelligent inspection drone and an intelligent cabin. The system is equipped with core capabilities such as remote mission scheduling, autonomous takeoff and landing, automatic cruise, autonomous charging and automatic recovery, and multi-drone collaborative operation, realizing truly unattended operation.

In marine monitoring scenarios, unmanned aerial vehicles automatically carry out patrol tasks along pre‑set routes, conducting high‑frequency, full‑coverage inspections of key sea areas, coastal zones and designated sensitive operational waters. In response to emergencies or abnormal situations, the average system response time is reduced from 2–4 hours for traditional vessel patrols to within 30 minutes, achieving a closed‑loop mechanism of “detection – evidence collection – reporting”.High‑definition imagery and multi‑source data are transmitted back in real time, providing regulators with visualizable and traceable support for decision‑making and enabling more accurate and efficient management.
Compared with the traditional law enforcement vessel patrol model, the unattended system breaks through the constraints of time and space, realizing all-weather operation and high-frequency inspections. The inspection frequency has increased by more than threefold, labor costs have been reduced by approximately 40%, and the comprehensive cost per kilometer of patrol has dropped by more than 60%. The monitoring model has shifted from post-incident handling to proactive early warning. With regular automatic patrols in key areas, real-time early warning of abnormal conditions, automatic data archiving, visual management of the whole process and traceability of violations, a new modern supervision model featuring wide coverage, rapid response and reliable data has been established.
As a core product independently developed by Honeycomb Aerospace, the SU-50Pro VTOL fixed-wing unattended system not only serves the marine monitoring sector but is also widely used in long-distance, large-scale scenarios such as oil and gas pipeline inspection, forest and grassland fire prevention monitoring, river and road patrols. Against the backdrop of the accelerated development of the low-altitude economy, unmanned systems are becoming an important part of new infrastructure. Honeycomb Aerospace will continue to build a more efficient, intelligent and reliable modern monitoring system supported by independently controllable technological capabilities.
